Le LaM lance raw, son nouveau programme dédié à la jeune création.

A partir du 13 juin 2026

À travers la présentation d'expositions de jeunes artistes contemporains, le musée devient un terrain d'expérimentations : un lieu ouvert, critique et vivant, où dialoguent des récits pluriels.

Premier artiste présenté dans le cadre de ce programme, Jessy Razafimandimby, né à Madagascar en 1995, explore la peinture, la sculpture et le dessin, qu'il intègre dans des installations immersives réalisées par assemblage d'objets trouvés.

En écho à la collection du LaM - notamment certaines figures majeures de l'art brut - il développe un nouvel ensemble d'œuvres mêlant figures humaines et animales. Inédite, son installation intègre mobilier, fragment textiles et bibelots, en partie chinés à la Grande Braderie de Lille en 2025.

En acceptant la donation Masurel en 1979, Arthur Notebart, qui était alors Président de la Communauté urbaine de Lille, engageait la collectivité territoriale dans une aventure qui n’était pas jusque-là dans ses attributions. Une association loi 1901 fut donc créée pour la gestion du musée d’art moderne et ses statuts permirent de structurer et d’organiser le fonctionnement du Musée. Pierre Chaigneau fut alors recruté comme conservateur pour mettre en place un programme fidèle à l’acte de donation qui précisait les volontés de Geneviève et Jean Masurel. Ce programme devait trouver sa place dans le bâtiment que l’architecte Roland Simounet était chargé de construire dans la ville nouvelle de Villeneuve-d’Ascq. Les dialogues féconds entre donateurs, architecte et conservateur permirent l’ouverture, en 1983, d’un musée associant parfaitement les fonctions de conservation et de diffusion grâce à des salles d’exposition permanente et temporaire, un parc de sculptures, un auditorium, une bibliothèque, un service éducatif et culturel. Joëlle Pijaudier-Cabot succéda à Pierre Chaigneau en 1987 et exerça ses fonctions jusqu’en 2007. Pendant cette période, une politique active d’acquisitions et une programmation de grandes expositions d’art moderne et contemporain hissèrent le Musée à une reconnaissance internationale. Un nouvel épisode de la vie du MAM commença quand la collection d’art brut de L’Aracine fut donnée au Musée en 1999, engageant la Communauté urbaine de Lille à agrandir le Musée afin de présenter de façon permanente l’art brut aux visiteurs. Le Musée devenait celui de l’art moderne, de l’art contemporain et de l’art brut. En 2008, fut choisi un nouveau nom, le LaM (Lille Métropole, musée d’art moderne, d’art contemporain et d’art brut), annonçant la réouverture du Musée dans sa nouvelle configuration.

– par la route : à 20 min. de la gare Lille Flandres, autoroute Paris-Gand (A1/A22/N227), sortie 5 ou 6 Flers / Château / Musée d’art moderne. -Parking : -Les emplacements de parking réservé PMR se situe juste avant le rond point de l’allée du Musée, face au pavillon d’entrée du musée. -2 parkings publics (non surveillés) sont disponibles : parking P7 (dit Des Moulins – hauteur maxi : 1,80m). Le Parking P8 (hauteur maxi : 1,80m), juste à coté du musée, mais plus petit.
